Get Ready for Digital Switchover

The Anglia and Central regions are preparing to swicth to digital TV starting from 30th March 2011 and finishing on 23rd November 2011 dependant on which transmitter you are receiving your signal from.

Stage One of the process sees the signal for analogue BBC 2 being swicthed off. At the same time BBC digital channels will be available to all areas for the first time.

Stage Two happens two weeks after stage one, when the remaining analogue channels will be swicthed off. All remaining digital channels will be available to all areas. HD TV channels will become available.

At each stage of the process you will need to re-tune your equipment to ensure you receive all available channels.

Sandy Heath transmitter – Cambridge, Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire

Stage One: 30th March 2011
Stage Two: 13th April 2011

Sudbury – Parts of Suffolk and Essex

Stage One: 6th July 2011
Stage Two: 20th July 2011

Tacolneston – Norfolk and north Suffolk

Stage One: 9th November 2011
Stage Two: 23rd November 2011

Once Stage Two is complete you will no longer be able to receive analogue TV and will need to either upgrade your TV to one including a Freeview or Freesat Tuner, subscribe to SKY, Virgin Media or other subscription services, or purchase a stand alone Freeview or Freesat box which you can plug into your aerial. Analogue radio will not be affected, but you will be able to receive digital radio through your Freeview Box.
